Where to keep safes in your home

It’s important to know where to put your safe in your home to ensure that no one else finds your precious possessions and also to give you quick and easy access to your belongings.

Before choosing a place, consider what you’re going to use the safe for: is it going to hold expensive jewelry, piles of cash, or precious antiques? Stash these things in a safe in your master bedroom/bathroom or closet, and put your safe in an easily accessible place where you can use it easily. Also, consider how often you will use the safe. If you plan to store valuable but frequently used items in your safe, such as VIP cards, cameras, jewelry, then put it in a place where you can easily reach it, no one wants to climb deep into the attic or basement to retrieve something every day; if your safe weighs more than 500kg, it should be placed on the ground floor of your home to avoid damaging the floor or ground.

Safes are not all the same, each has its own purpose and must be treated differently. For example, safes with electronic locks should not be placed in places with high humidity or moisture, such as garages, basements, bathrooms, or laundry rooms, where humidity or moisture can cause the locks to not work properly; the best place to place a fireproof safe is on a hard floor in a garage or basement, with no debris around it.
