Pre-treatment measures before long-term storage of firearms

1. Disassemble the parts of the gun

2. Back the gun out of gear so that the tension on the spring and other parts of the gun can be relieved.

3. Wipe all parts of the gun with a gun insert cloth, including all fingerprints on the gun, residual adhesions will affect the quality of the gun over time.

4. Do a thorough cleaning of the gun, copper, lead, and plastic all attract moisture, so cleaning the gun with the ammonia-free cleaner will help keep the gun dry.

5. Clean the bore thoroughly, then apply a thin coat of lubricant to the gun and a thin coat to any other exposed metal on the gun, this will form a thin coating that will protect and seal the surface while in storage.

6. For wooden stocks treat them with wax to prevent swelling or cracking and don’t forget to wax the inside of the stock as well.
